Dr. B. P Agrawal emerged the winner of this year’s Energy Globe World award after his innovative project was voted the best by the audience at a colorful ceremony held yesterday in Kigali.

$100,000 Lemelson-MIT Award for Sustainability
April 28, 2010, Cambridge, Massachusetts: Honored for technology that improves access to clean water, health care and business development in rural India.

World Bank’s Development Marketplace Award
In 2007, Dr. BP Agrawal received the World Bank’s Development Marketplace Award for innovative social enterprise to deliver basic health care to vulnerable populations. Arogya, a kiosk-based clinic, computerizes medical protocols for common ailments and makes medical knowledge mobile for it to reach underserved villages.

World Bank’s Development Marketplace Award In 2006, Dr. BP Agrawal received the World Bank’s Development Marketplace Award for Aakash Ganga, River from Sky, a self-sustainable and holistic rainwater harvesting scheme. Aakash Ganga was perfected during 2003 - 2008 through incubation and pilots. Sustainable plans to implement Aakash Ganga in 50 villages as a public-private-community partnership by 2011.
